To register successfully in this process, log onto the Student Support Portal (SSP), choose your student cycle, fill out the necessary information, upload relevant files and pay associated fees. About The CA New Scheme
The CA New Scheme will be introduced in May 2024, when there are a few major changes to the syllabus and overall CA Course. For CA Inter and CA Finals, the papers have been reduced from 6 to 8 and the articleship period from 3 years to 2 years. Also, there are a few changes to the marking scheme, question pattern, and registration validity. We will discuss these changes in the CA Intermediate Course in the following sections.
CA Intermediate Exam Eligibility
There are two different criteria for the CA Intermediate exam. So, if you are coming from the CA Foundation route, then you need to clear the CA Foundation exams then you must complete the CA Inter registration process.
If you are choosing the Direct Route, or planning to pursue the CA Intermediate Course after your graduation or post-graduation, then you must clear the exams with at least 55%. Now that you know the eligibility criteria, it is important that you must prepare well for the CA Inter exams to score a good CA Intermediate result.
Students who want to register for the CA Intermediate through the Foundation route can register either of the groups or both groups. Yet, students registering themselves from the Direct route, must register for both groups together.

Documents Required for CA Intermediate Registration
When you will start the registration process, you need a few documents. The list of documents for CA Intermediate Course registration is as follows:
- Class 12th marksheet
- Copy of the Graduation / Post Graduation Marksheet (for direct route students)
- Your latest colour photo
- Nationality Proof for International Students
- Special category certificate proof in case of SC/ST/OBC or differently-abled certificate proof
CA Intermediate Registration Process
- Go to the ICAI website and select the Service Portal Link or access ICAI portal, enter your username and password to log into the self-service portal and log in.
- After verification click “Click Here to Access Student SSP Portal.”
- Select the student cycle. Foundation route students should select “Intermediate through Foundation”, while direct entry route students must click on Intermediate through Direct entry.
- Direct entry route students must enter their personal details. CA Foundation students’ personal details will be automatically filled out. Once verified, click “Save and Next”.Next, you will enter the Qualification details. Upload all necessary documents, fill in all details, and click “Save and Next”.Next, upload your Photo/Signature image (the maximum file size for these photos should not exceed 100 KB).Now go to “Generate OTP”, which will generate an OTP and you will receive it on either your registered mobile number or via an email from ICAI to verify it.Now enter the OTP and Captcha code before clicking Submit. Finally, pay your CA Inter registration fees; your application will then be reviewed by ICAI and approved accordingly.Once payment is complete, the system will generate a CA Intermediate registration form. Students need to save and print out. Then, after signing it, submit it within seven days to the respective regional office along with relevant documents.The CA Intermediate Registration is valid for four years. Also, you can validate it after four years with the necessary fees. However, as per the CA New scheme, the registration for the CA Intermediate Course is valid for five years. There is only one opportunity to revalidate your registration
